Description

The Beam Data Module provides remote environments with reliable Data / SCADA communications access via the Iridium satellite network. The RST600 cable assembly presents a DB9 serial data socket to the user in order to gain access to the Iridium data services. The RST600 is suitable for compact, reliable fixed or mobile remote data communications. The Data Module can be easily deployed into various installations applications across many market segments. Suitable for accessing all Iridium data services.

Modem Emulation

The RST600 emulates the functionality of a Hayes compatible modem. The user operates the connected equipment as though using a normal dial-up data service or modem connection.

Power Inputs / Backup Battery

The RST600 terminal is supplied with a universal AC power supply. A readily available country specific cord is required. The unit can also be connected via an optional DC converter. , supports AC 110/240 AC power or optional DC-DC converter available.The input voltage of the converter is 11–32VDC–4.4VDC output(RST994). When used in conjunction with the RST994, the RST600 supports the Beam Battery Backup, RST050. This will provide at least 72 hours of standby time and 4 hours of communications time. The terminal is also capable of being Solar Powered.

The RST600 provides a serial interface for PC connection and two way SMS, giving the user access to the following services.

• Direct Internet Data 10-12 Kbps
• Short Message Service (SMS) Via AT Commands
• Short Burst Data, SBD (Selected Providers)
• Full AT Command Set

Alert / Tracking Interface

The RST600 is capable of supporting the standalone Beam TrackALERT interface. This will support deployment for tracking, monitoring and emergency alert installations. The TrackALERT interfaces are available with inbuilt or external GPS receivers.

Installation

The RST600 can be deployed for various applications. Selecting an appropriate antenna and antenna cable for the installation is very important for optimum performance.
