Connection Options

In-line – connection via a headset jack – the kit is installed in-line between the primary user’s headset and ICS position. If connected in this way, the DZM can be operated in one of two modes:
- Single user mode – this is the normal operating mode. The primary user can talk over the Iridium connection while remaining connected to the ICS. Other crew members can’t hear or take part in the Iridium call
- Integrated mode – all crew members can take part in the Iridium call.

Direct ICS connection – if a spare radio position is available, the kit can be fully integrated into the aircraft’s avionics system, providing all crew members with Iridium voice communications.
